Dr. John T. Bassett, MD

Dr. Bassett received his Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI in 1998 and completed internal medicine residency in 2001 at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda Maryland. He completed a rigorous gastroenterology fellowship in the National Capital Consortium, Bethesda Maryland in 2008 and transplant hepatology training at the University of Michigan in 2011. Dr. Bassett retired from the U.S. Navy after more than 21 years of active duty service in 2019. Subsequently, he transitioned to Sanford Health, Fargo, ND and received an appointment as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Dr. Bassett is passionate about colon cancer prevention and is a member of the North Dakota Colorectal Cancer Roundtable and North Dakota Cancer Coalition. He holds Fellow status in the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology..


Brian Shawn

Brian is an award-winning sportscaster for Midco Sports. He won an Emmy Award in 2019 for his story on North Dakota State defensive end, Spencer Waege, and was named 2021 North Dakota Sportscaster of the Year. Brian was the television voice for Bison football as well as men’s and women’s basketball from 2011 to 2021 and his in second season doing play-by-play for University of North Dakota football and men’s and women’s basketball and just wrapped up his eighth season broadcasting games at the Summit League basketball tournament in Sioux Falls. Brian has been married to his wife Jessica for 13 years and they have a seven year-old daughter, Amelia.

Brian was diagnosed with Stage Three colon cancer in the February of 2021 but after surgery and 14 months of treatment, he has been cancer free ever since.




Jenna Mueller

Jenna Mueller is a driven and dedicated nonprofit leader with a background in strategic communication, development, and research. Jenna serves as the Executive Director for the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce’s Foundation. Recently she was nationally recognized with the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executive’s 40-Under-40 award. Her unwavering commitment to driving social impact and economic prosperity is situated at the core of her catalytic leadership. She is an international and nationally award-winning scholar with research included in over 100 peer-reviewed academic publications, books, and presentations.

 One of Jenna’s favorite things is “getting weird with” passionate community members, risk takers, and collaborators who empower one another to make meaningful change and impact.   

 Jenna is an avid lover of all things Fargo and actively serves as the Vice President of the Fargo Lions Club and Proud Board Member of The F5 Project. She loves dinosaurs, coffee, being an aunt, her tiny dog - Old Man Stuart and old cat – Pi.   

 Jenna was widowed when her husband Ben passed away from Stage Four colon cancer in July 2019 after his diagnosis in early 2018.
